Old Work 3

Moving into early college. Freshman/Sophomore year. Worst comics ever. Unfortunately still haunt me to this day.

A large comic/painting thing that I threw out after finishing:

Making The Abyss/ Mome 14

In the most recent Mome (#14) , my story "Making the Abyss" was printed out of order accidentally. The second page printed was supposed to be the last page. That's why it says "end" at the bottom of the second page. This mistake also threw off the corresponding page spreads throughout the story.
Above is the first spread as it should have appeared.
It will be printed correctly in a forthcoming collection.

Old Work 2

This is one of the illustrations I did for The Richmond Times Dispatch "inSync" supplement while in high school. This was a weekly gig.A funny high school photo while I was in Japan. I am the only one smiling. Also the only non-Japanese person.
The cover and a page from a comic I did called "Shippori" senior year of high school. A Xeric grant loser.

More crap tomorrow.

Old Work 1

I did a long interview a while ago, for the Duke University show, that now appears in the most recent Comics Journal. I dug up and scanned a bunch of old work to run alongside the interview.
However when the interview was printed they didn't use any of the images, just "Mome" pages and random things that they had around the office I guess.
So I'm taking some of what I scanned and posting them here, in multiple posts, for a few days.
First up: a very early (first?) comic that my dad wrote and I drew. It's my dad's handwriting on the bottom of the pages and he probably helped me where I wrote words at the beginning. In its entirety!

More crap tomorrow. Moving into more embarassing territory.
